Sorry about the late response; I was out of town. I can no longer reproduce the problem, despite the missing libGL.a. Apparently, libGL.so is sufficient, and it could have been a simple ldconfig problem that cleared up at the next reboot. For what it is worth, I am using envy with the NVidia driver version 100.14.11. So, I guess we can just close the bug, and sorry about jumping the gun.
