Well, I really hope this is true, but since my original report for this bug I said that reconfiguring xserver allows to start x, so nothing looks changed to my non_developer & non_X_expert eyes. :) Probably a good test would be to launch ubuntu live with your patched server. Do you have any indications about the best way to do this?
