Seems Unity8 already has an environment variable to set the indicator profile, but it gets clobbered by a hardcoded value of 'phone' that can only be overridden by a command-line switch.
The Unity8 desktop preview session should set the -profile=desktop command-line switch when starting the shell so indicators will use the appropriate profile. ** Package changed: unity8 (Ubuntu) => unity8-desktop-session (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: unity8-desktop-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: unity8-desktop-session (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1285194 Title: need an environment variable to set the indicator profile To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8-desktop-session/+bug/1285194/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
