AFAIK Firefox is able to use GStreamer 1.0 upstream (prooflink: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=806917) so Ubuntu Mozilla team should just complie it against 1.0 and not 0.10 which is no longer supported by GStreamer developers.
