the only clear pattern is that the first time you try to do something such as "man less" it took about 30 seconds to load.... but after that it loads from memory cache and is fast.
on the other hand, firefox continues to stall with every page load even on pages that have already been loaded. Basically, any time that a program is run for the first time, it is very slow to load but then runs at normal speed, and the second time that you run the same program it loads very quickly.. However, apt-get install continues to have long stalls while unpacking and installing each app. looking at the PATH showed nothing interesting, all of the folders exist and a directory listing was fast. (except the first time the "ls" command was invoked it was slow.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1290457 Title: boot from usb flash drive takes 10+ mins and runs slow To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1290457/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
