I am using Kubuntu Gutsy from some time and I had no problem with the Firefox fonts, until I installed ubuntu-desktop. Now Firefox fonts are huge, but no other application seems to be affected. I uninstalled ubuntu-desktop and most of its dependencies, I also uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, deleted the .mozilla directory, but fonts are still huge. The attached screenshot shows firefox and synaptic. Fonts in Synaptic are as expected, but in firefox they are so huge that tabs look weird.
