Public bug reported: I am running a current-updated version of 14.04.
I have a USB to Serial cable with an embedded FTDI chip. When I plug the cable in, I *think* it should be assigned a /dev/ttyUSB0 slot...I can then map that as need for my application. I do not get this assignment. Output of lsusb: Bus 001 Device 002: ID 064e:a103 Suyin Corp. Acer/HP Integrated Webcam [CN0314] Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0bda:0158 Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
