I found the reason of the crashes using strace: Some files iIn /usr/local/share misses world readability. After changing the permissiones kcmshell4 filetypes works as aspected. So the remaining problem is, that kcmshell crashes instead of returning a meaningfull error message in such a situation. Do you still need the requested information?
