Oh, man, I'm so sorry... got to know my environment better. The mono bin
package I installed messed up with my .bashrc exporting some evil lib
paths:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ldd /usr/lib/python2.5/lib-dynload/zlib.so
        linux-gate.so.1 =>  (0xffffe000)
        libz.so.1 => /home/kao/mono-1.2.3.1/lib/libz.so.1 (0xb7f28000)
        libpthread.so.0 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7ef4000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 (0xb7db2000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x80000000)

Well, I'm closing it again. At least I've learned something. I didn't
know about ldd and I was searching for something exact like that to
solve this problem. Thanks and sorry again for wasting your time...
