I compiled "intel_rng" as a module, but still get the error message and
still having trouble getting wireless to work. I have to run this script
after I'm logged-in to connect to a network, else it only shows
connections but not able to connect:

sudo su
modprobe -r ipw3945
killall ipw3945d
/sbin/ipw3945d-stop
modprobe -i ipw3945
/sbin/ipw3945d-start

When I do that I get these lines in kern.log: and it finally connects
