** Description changed:

  I have a gobi2000 3g wwan card installed in a openwrt router,

gobi_loader(http://www.codon.org.uk/~mjg59/gobi_loader/download/gobi_loader-0.7.tar.gz)
- download Verizon firmware always failed. In linux-desktop, gobi_loader
- include in modemmanager, so I make this bug report.
+ download Verizon firmware always failed.

  After do some usb monitor I found the magic4 package error when download
apps.mbn file. This magic package(81bytes) less a byte than download firmare in
windows(82bytes):

  With several attempts, I think should encode all magic package same with ppp
protocol, use 0x7d as an escape character as this:
  0x7e -> 0x7d 0x5e
  0x7d -> 0x7d 0x5d

  It works fine with my router and laptop even with CDMA or GSM service,
  hope it can helps for someone with same issue. Here is the github
  project of my fix: https://github.com/kicer/gobi_loader. Maybe this fix
  should commit to branch after review. Thanks!
