I am also seeing this exact same issue in Gutsy on my IBM ThinkPad T42p
upgraded from Feisty tonight. I get tens of these messages per second
and they are taking up lots of CPU.

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
 2579 root 21 -4 18528 16m 412 R 73.9 0.8 5:24.31 udevd

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# ps aux | grep -i udevd
root 2579 60.8 0.8 19168 17404 ? R<s 01:21 5:46 /sbin/udevd
--daemon
root 4078 0.0 0.8 19168 17392 ? S< 01:30 0:00 /sbin/udevd
--daemon

Only way to stop it temporarily is to 'killall udevd' as root...
