I am running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I am facing the full freeze issues too. So much that its froze for 12 times in 2 hours. Hard Reboot is the only way to revive the system. The configuration is,
Intel Core i7 2630QM @ 2.00 GHz 4 GB RAM (2x2) + 2 GB Swap nVidia GT 540M During freezes trackpad doesn't work. Some have upgraded kernel from 3.2 to 3.4 and have solved their issues. I am running kernel 3.8 and still facing issues. The Xorg display drivers seemed to create problems so running Additional Drivers for nVidia recommended by Ubuntu. Any views on how to proceed further? Strangest thing is never once a bug report was generated after hard reset of the laptop. Any help is appreciated.
