I seem to still be experiencing this bug, both on Kubuntu desktop and on server. On both systems, none of the log files that rsyslog normally creates are created and all logging output is lost.
I can, however, work around the issue by creating the log files and chowning them to syslog:adm before starting rsyslog. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1256695 Title: cannot create log files in /var/log To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rsyslog/+bug/1256695/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
