I can confirm this bug is still alive and well. I'm experiencing it both
on Ubuntu 13.10 and 14.04.

I'm attaching my results from xrandr on 14.04*.

Perhaps worth noticing, I've had no success disabling the unknown
display with the solution posted here

*In an effort to solve what I think is related problems with my HDMI port, I've 
decided to test the beta release so unfortunately I can't at the moment give 
you 13.10 results.
