I'm having the same exact problem. Has a resolution been found? I've tried running:
sudo dpkg --configure sun-java6-bin But it fails with: Setting up sun-java6-bin (6-02-1ubuntu1) ... Could not create the Java virtual machine. dpkg: error processing sun-java6-bin (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: sun-java6-bin I am, of course, running Gutsy.
