I have now switched from Lubuntu to Xfce, so am no longer concerned by this bug.
Sorry, but I don't have time or energy to set up a new development version of 
Lubuntu just to check this.

Surely the current status of the problem can be determined simply by
looking at the "lubuntu-logout.desktop" file & checking that the icon
corresponds with one that actually exists & is wanted for this function?
