Christopher

Hope you've enjoyed/are enjoying your festive season.

I installed an upstream version on December 24 and was about to smile
that the bug has been fixed (and update the bug as per your below).
Unfortunately, this morning my mouse froze again. I'm hoping I've
installed a correct copy. In response to 'uname -a' I receive:

Linux barbangus-desktop 3.13.0-031300rc5-generic #201312221635 SMP Sun
Dec 22 21:37:23 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

However, something to note. When installed this I encountered exactly
the problem described in your link below regarding VirtualBox
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds?action=show&redirect=KernelMainlineBuilds#Problems_installing_an_upstream_kernel).

At the time I chose to ignore the issue as I don't use VBox often.
However, yesterday I needed it and reinstalled VBox. And this morning I
encountered the problem. So it is possible that the mouse freeze is
introduced with VBox (I'm not techo enough to know whether this is
possible). I'm happy to remove VBox and run my test for a further few
weeks if you wish.

At this stage I haven't added any comments to the bug but can easily do
so if you wish.

Further, there's a comment in your text re "needs-crash-log". Not sure
how I go about getting one of those as there is no crash per se.

Happy to do as directed.

Kind regards
