Public bug reported: Binary package hint: g++
gcc 4.1 use much more (too much) memory compared to gcc 4.0 (the one in Dapper) when compiling C++ code. Example: hugin-0.6.1 (new package in edgy), Stitcher1.cpp builds fine on my 512MB machine, but make it trash when using Edgy's gcc. Top show that in Dapper the cc1 process need 230MB while on Edgy it requires 430MB+. I think this is an important regression. ** Affects: gcc-defaults (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- gcc 4.1 use much more memory https://launchpad.net/bugs/59444 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
