The fix is upstream as of 3.12 and has been incorporated into the relevant upstream stable releases as well. So as long as you're on a relatively recent version of any currently supported kernel series this problem should not be present (kernels prior to 3.10 were not affected by the bug). > 2.) I can't say for sure, but based on this short description I don't think it sounds related.
