Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: base-installer

Trying to install Kubuntu (from live Desktop CD) on a system with a
rather complex partitioning scheme and a large number of "partitions"
(system using EVMS + LVM2 with already existing partitions and LVM
setup), the "Manual" choice in the partitioning tool displays a large
box full of solid blue and red rectangles (without any text) which I
guess represents system partitions.

The matter is that this partitions (?) window, in my case, is much
taller than my physical display, and has no scrollbars, so there's no
way I can see what's at the bottom of the window (buttons maybe ?), nor
can I move it up (the window "move" refuses to move the widow title bar
higher than the physical screen), and I'm stuck there where I can't
perform any action - but close the window and installer.

So I went to an Ubuntu CD and tried the same, and there it works because
the Ubuntu live Desktop CD installer, when choosing "manual partitions
setup", gives a window where the partitions are listed as text, and can
be scrolled (using window scrollbar) for proper selection and
configuration.

So this problem is specific to the Kubuntu 7.04 "live" installer in
"manual partitioning" mode, but it's allright in "Ubuntu".

So I had to first install Ubuntu this way, then install Kubuntu packages
once Ubuntu was up and running. That's annoying :-}
