There was a bug that caused translations to get lost during the Edgy development cycle, but they said it was fixed during the Feisty cycle... (And you are the first to say that this is still happening.)
Maybe the problem is that you are also upstream and Launchpad gets confused by that? Or it could have something to do with the files that you upload; are they based on a .po that you downloaded first?
