This is possibly an iOS problem. Apple have added a procedure to require
user interaction before connecting to linux computers, apparently due to
a confirmed exploit with using a linux based system disguised as a
charger, which can install arbitrary software on the iPhone, and make
calls without user interaction. Whilst not likely to be a common
problem, the fact that it could be done with something like a gumstix in
a charger case means that it is a real one.
