Public bug reported: Since wp3.5, wordpress can use ImageMagick (via php-imagick) to manipulate pictures, which can result in a boost in speed/quality. No configuration is needed; wordpress uses imagemagick if it's installed, and defaults to GD if it isn't.
I think this can be done as an alternative to the php-gd dependency. Another possibility is adding a php5-imagick recommends or suggests. ** Affects: wordpress (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1257621 Title: add php5-imagick as an alternative to php-gd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wordpress/+bug/1257621/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
