Public bug reported: Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit with Gnome fallback
System starts with message the system is running in low graphics mode, the desktop does not come up, and the system is locked from all further entries. After one or more system restarts it boots normally. Problem discussed in http://askubuntu.com/questions/141606/how-to-fix-the-system-is- running-in-low-graphics-mode-error with several possible solutions. One that works is to sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf - as long as this file is gone, there are no more boot errors. However this file keeps re- appearing and it seems to be re-introduced by the update linux- firmware_1.79.9_all.deb. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1257058 Title: low graphics mode boot error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1257058/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
