Since the most recent kernel upgrade I am experiencing these symptoms.

I try:

killall pulseaudio
pulseaudio -D
E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Daemon startup failed.

after a reboot it seems to work again, but not when the laptop goes to
sleep mode and comes back
