Public bug reported: This falls in the annoying category. I have my Ubuntu workstation plugged into two separate networks. Each nic gets an IP through DHCP and then applies DNS and default route settings. Depending on which NIC comes up first, it overwrites the DNS settings the other applies.
DNS settings should append to /etc/resolv.conf instead of overwriting if another NIC is up and running. This is only a problem if DNS is setup internally to one of the networks of course. :-) ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- One DNS by DHCP setting overwrites another https://launchpad.net/bugs/59375 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
