I tried installing 14.04 via netboot but could not run the ""Detect
Disks" step so i was not able to create a root partition. The "Detect
Network Configuration" step also tried to load yenta_socket but i was
able to skip it and still had a working network connection.

I resorted to installing 14.04 from my working 10.04 install via
debootstrap and tested both the stock 14.04 kernel (3.12.0-2-generic)
and the latest trusty mainline kernel (3.12.0-031200-generic). On both
kernels i get the freeze when either yenta_socket is loaded on boot or
from a terminal via modprobe.
