Public bug reported: If you select a previously installed untrusted package for re- installation, you are presented with an authentication failure warning ("You are about to install software that can't be authenticated!"). If you hit Cancel, Synaptic nevertheless marks the package for re- installation: the Cancel button acts precisely like the Mark button.
