I figured that for me the error messages disappear if you set the SATA mode to 'Compatibility Mode' instead of 'AHCI' in the BIOS. Ubuntu still booted after this change. I could not find a relation to the Optimus Graphics switch as reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/888764.
