It looks like you do not have a laptop but are using a USB touchpad connected to your desktop PC. Your /var/log/Xorg.0.log shows that you are not using the synaptics driver. You probably need to alter your /etc/X11/xorg.conf manually to use the synaptics touchpad driver for your USB touchpad.
