Both gst-launch-1.0 and aplay work if the default device is set to analog headphones in gnome-control-center, and do not work correctly if the default device is set to HDMI.
I tried the following: speaker-test -c2 -t wav -D hdmi:1,DEV=0 gst-launch-1.0 uridecodebin uri=file:///<path to music file> ! alsasink device=hdmi:1 and the sound is too fast in both cases. I typed dmesg: here is an excerpt of the output [ 1.341004] [drm] Radeon Display Connectors [ 1.341005] [drm] Connector 0: [ 1.341006] [drm] VGA-1 [ 1.341007] [drm] DDC: 0x7e40 0x7e40 0x7e44 0x7e44 0x7e48 0x7e48 0x7e4c 0x7e4c [ 1.341008] [drm] Encoders: [ 1.341009] [drm] CRT1: INTERNAL_KLDSCP_DAC1 [ 1.341010] [drm] Connector 1: [ 1.341011] [drm] HDMI-A-1 [ 1.341012] [drm] HPD3 [ 1.341013] [drm] DDC: 0x7e50 0x7e50 0x7e54 0x7e54 0x7e58 0x7e58 0x7e5c 0x7e5c [ 1.341014] [drm] Encoders: [ 1.341015] [drm] DFP3: INTERNAL_KLDSCP_LVTMA [ 1.341043] [drm] radeon: power management initialized [ 1.424983] [drm] fb mappable at 0xD0142000 [ 1.424985] [drm] vram apper at 0xD0000000 [ 1.424986] [drm] size 8294400 [ 1.424987] [drm] fb depth is 24 [ 1.424988] [drm] pitch is 7680 [ 1.425089] fbcon: radeondrmfb (fb0) is primary device [ 1.431998] Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 240x67 [ 1.451115] radeon 0000:01:05.0: fb0: radeondrmfb frame buffer device [ 1.451117] radeon 0000:01:05.0: registered panic notifier [ 1.451186] [drm] Initialized radeon 2.34.0 20080528 for 0000:01:05.0 on minor 0 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1245226 Title: HDMI: audio-video playback too fast To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1245226/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
