Isn't this very much related to all those other usability bugs in the new version of deskbar? If need, I don't mind posting separate bug-reports about all usability issues (besides it launching a window). Lack of intelligent keyboard control comes to mind, as well do focus and resizing issues.
I'm glad to hear they are actively working to make it fix up the usability. The window thing wouldn't be a very big thing if it worked nicely.
