Thanks for reporting this bug. I don't think having a separate indicator for each application is something we want. It clutters the panel with colored icons and would lead to lots of menus with very few items.
Note that bug #906043 is similar to this one. It's about making it more obvious which application requested attention after opening the menu. ** Changed in: indicator-messages (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Matthew Paul Thomas (mpt) ** Changed in: indicator-messages (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Triaged ** Changed in: indicator-messages (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1243240 Title: It is unclear what sort of unread message is being indicated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-messages/+bug/1243240/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
