I have a Clevo W350ST with Ubuntu Saucy, had installed the Bumblebee PPA and experienced the same problem with the brightness keys not working.
However, by removing the bumblebee PPA, purging bumblebee, re-installing it from the Saucy repos, and then adding kernel boot parameters "acpi_backlight=vendor" and "acpi=force", and now the Fn-F8/F8 correctly alter the brightness correctly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1218547 Title: Clevo W350ST brightness keys don't work on Kubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1218547/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
