** Description changed:

I am using Mint 15 Cinnamon on an Avatar AVIU-145A2 using the intel i5
chipset and linux mint is the only OS installed. These issues are the
same across several distros (Ubuntu, Mint, Elementary OS) and I upgraded
the kernel to 3.11. Upon booting the system, the cursor is unusable due
to a "jumping motion" to the left side of the screen (the touchpad is
made by elantech - it is detected by mint as a touchpad, but nothing
other than basic features are usable, even though the options are
available in the system settings). Usually a reboot fixes this, but
sometimes it happens again after the computer has been on for awhile.
The touchpad glitch would be easy to deal with if the suspend feature
worked, basically I have to reboot the system twice and shut down the
system every time I take my laptop anywhere. I checked the syslog to see
what was happening with the acpi driver and the output below is what I
  found.

These issues happen every time I use my system.
