Public bug reported:

1) Description: Ubuntu 13.04
Release: 13.04

2) Installed: 7.0.0daily13.06.19~13.04-0ubuntu1

3) When I search for "keyboard layout" in the dash, I expect the words to
appear in the dash search box as I type.
4) What happened instead: The "a" character didn't display and it appeared as
"keybo rd l yout" instead, but the actual results were what I expected.
