I was able to test this out, after making a few minor adjustments to my setup in order to mirror the machine that you were having issues with, and I ran into the same issues with both live USB and live CD installation attempts. I verified the disks, and was able to successfully install Saucy with them on a myriad of other machines (Basically what I spent most of today doing). The latest daily (Sep 30th) AMD64 build boots fine, which adds to the strangeness of this. Tonight, when I have some time to dissect and hack with the images, I'll try to sort out what's causing the hang in the installer. Meanwhile, I'm split between calling this a ubiquity issue and possibly a syslinux issue. I'll know better on that if I can get the installer working.
