We have a similar problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/130502 and http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=516814 there is even a feisty occurrence here, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=519267
This is definitely confirmed, even if it only a small number of cases. They had this problem in Fedora Core 7, and they used http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showpost.php?p=840424&postcount=61 as a solution. I don't know if this helps, as I don't seem to have the file they refer to.
