I have the same problem. Gutsy, nvidia geforce 7600. Whenever I run glxgears, or any other opengl app it crashes X and restarts. Some of the other apps that have crashes X were GNUbik, Dreamchess, and Neverball. Neverball works in windowed mode, but switching to fullscreen crashes X. Didn't have this problem at all in Feisty.
