Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu 
better.
It would seems to me that the bug while booting your installed system must be 
different than the one while booting the installed system, since giving 
'nolapic' does not solve it. So I will concentrate on bug on installed system 
(black screen), at least for now.

Have you check Tribe-2 for defects? This is one of the option when
booting it.

Could you, when booting your installed system, press ESC, and choose the option 
with (recovery mode).
This should boot in text mode only, as super-user (# prompt).
The great thing is that boot messages should be on  the screen. So you can 
check and note on a paper error messages.
If you go up to the # prompt, you can type 'halt' or 'shutdown -h now' to stop 
the computer. Or 'reboot' to reboot.

Please give results here, especially error messages.
