I'm a little bit off field. Do not know much about alsa and stuff. I'm assuiming you are talking about Josh Boyer <jwboyer at redhat.com> No. I did not contact this person.
MacPro has no jack colors at all, they are gray with little icons. Changes done with hda-jack_retask aren't be persistent? And they are not shared across all ubuntu installations. I'm assuming it shall be done in the configs and shared within ubuntu alsa deb packages? Node 0x19 - is a front panel jack, when I connect headphones to it no matter what mixer I'm using from a "Connection List". I hear no sound at all. So, I do not understand the logic behind connecting headphones to the line out at the rear (node 0x14) and playing with hda-analyser to change output mixer.
