alex, you know that by switching to EFI you did nothing? you are suppose to not only switch mode to UEFI, but ALSO install OS in UEFI mode for brightness to work on .29 kernel. Unfortunately, it seems like the fix for Brightness control in BIOS mode broke the brightness in UEFI mode. So this is kinda fix/breaking patch.
