The attitude that RAID and RAID+LVM is not worthy of support is silly.
There is a reason why so many people used the Alternate CDs. In the corporate
environment protecting work on peoples computers through the use of RAID1 is a
sensible option.

12.04 LTS Alternate CD works perfectly. Yet the support was dropped for
RAID+LVM installs. WHY?

The suggestion of Install the Server CD on the Desktop then download
stupid amounts of data to install your chosen desktop of choice is not a
choice - its a botched up workaround due to removal of functionality
that WAS in place.

Please put the RAID+LVM configuration into the installer. Worse still -
13.10 reports my existing RAID+LVM partitions as 'ntfs' and 'unknown'...
