It is no. 22 of the citations listed at Wikipedia. I consider this a correct citation. So the question is not, if Wikipedia is a valid source but if the cited article is correct or not and if Wikipedia cites it correct. I checked my local copy of GREENWOOD & EARNSHAW in which the etymology of Gallium is "Gallia" too. There is no reference to the etymology you refer to. There are also the citations of the original articles: http://www.iupac.org/publications/ci/2004/2601/1_holden.html#24.
I suggest to discuss your request on/in a valuable mailing list/forum (e.g. blueobelisk-disc...@lists.sourceforge.net) and add some citations. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1080906 Title: Gallium etymology disputed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gelemental/+bug/1080906/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
