Indeed, I'm not running the RPM, but the PPA directly from LO site, Ubuntu 13.04's default version is actually 4.0 not 4.1. I've switched to the PPA version as suggested by someone in this thread in order to check whether the problem was due to the particular implementation in Ubuntu or not.
