I get the same error. It prevents any installation or full removal of
packages.

My System:
7.8 GiB
Intel® Core™ i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz × 4
Gallium 0.4 on NVE4
32-bit
Ubuntu 13.04

Result of executing "sudo apt-get remove rhythmbox":

Afterwards I tried to run the shutter program from the terminal. The feedback
confirms that it's not installed:
shutter
The program 'shutter' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install shutter

It's a very big problem because now I'm stuck with the programs I have
installed, making my current Ubuntu installation useless. Any help or
workaround is very much appreciated. A google doesn't provide any
answers and my knowledge of linux is still too weak to properly tackle
the problem, like by trying to manually remove some files - that I know
nothing about.
