Public bug reported:

I left my computer unattended for a few minutes and the display shut
off. Upon returning, I attempted to unlock the computer by entering my
password with the keyboard. None of the keys seemed to have any effect -
I couldn't enter anything in the password entry box and pressing return
seemed to have no effect either. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 did allow me to
switch to another VT.

Technical information:

* Ubuntu Gnome 13.04 64-bit
* GDM version 3.6.1-0ubuntu4
* keyboard is connected via PS/2

** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
