I downloaded the AMD 64 ISO image from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-
live/current/ and used the Startup Disk Creator utility to make a
bootalbe USB stick. Then I hit F12 on bootup, went into setup, and made
sure the USB stick was first in the bootup order. Then I tried several
times to boot off the USB.

However, even though when I hit F12 to see the USB stick its identifier
is there in the list, my system is not booting off the USB stick. I keep
getting through to the regular hard disk Grub menu instead. There is
some error message flashing on the screen but it is too fast to read.

I also tried re-making the USB drive, this time making sure to erase the
disk first.

Following the instructions on
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFI
(because I do have UEFI on this computer), I also verified that I have Secure
Boot disabled in the BIOS (that was already the case) and that RapidStart
Technology is disabled (that was also already the case).

So, I am not sure how to proceed with testing the latest mainline image.
Obviously, I don't want to reinstall the O/S on my computer. And it does
not have a CD/DVD rom drive, so I cannot try booting from that.

HOWEVER, I was able to boot from the mainstream kernel labeled
v3.11-rc6-saucy from the URL suggested above (AMD-64 version). I was
also going to try the 3.9 RC8 Raring kernel, but the .deb file I
downloaded (twice, just to be sure) would not install with dpkg -i
(message said "... is not a debian format archive"). The specific kernel
I booted from says 3.22.0-031100rc6-generic.

And, when I booted from this kernel, I was able to suspend repeatedly.
So I would say this is fixed upstream.

I will try mark this bug accordingly after saving this comment. (not
sure if I can do both at the same time and I don't want to lose the
comment)

If bisecting to figure out which kernel it is first fixed in would help,
let me know and I would be happy to do so.
