@all i thought i had solved this by replacing precise with raring and updating kernel to 3.10 (see #48 above and the thread leading to it). unfortunately, it is not the case. the wifi connection drops constantly and pops a login window, actually dozens and dozens of login windows (see attached). the only way to get rid of all of them is to kill nm- applet (which takes 300mb+ of memory, more than chrome).
at this point i'm seriously considering returning q190 (a fine machine otherwise), because i can't get ubuntu to run properly on it. any ideas how to fix this once and for all? thx. ** Attachment added: "screenshot" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1096989/+attachment/3775426/+files/Screenshot%20from%202013-08-16%2018%3A12%3A39.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1096989 Title: 10ec:8179 No wireless support for Lenovo IdeaCentre Q190 (RTL8188E) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1096989/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
